Alexis Matynia is an associate professor at the Institut Jean le Rond d'Alembert (Sorbonne University - CNRS), where he conducts research on combustion, specializing in the chemical mechanisms of combustion and pollutant formation. His work focuses in the areas of experimental analysis of flame structure, the study of soot particle formation processes, and the development, refinement, and optimization of kinetic combustion models.

By combining experimental analysis and numerical modeling, he has developed a detailed understanding of combustion phenomena that is directly applicable to the study of the fire behavior of materials in complex environments.
