Guillaume Legros is a Full Professor at Sorbonne University and a thematic expert for Materials and Fluids Sciences in Microgravity at the Strategy Directorate of the French Space Agency (CNES).
For 20 years, Guillaume Legros has developed his expertise in the physics of flames at Institute d'Alembert (Sorbonne University / CNRS UMR 7190), for which he has been named as a Fellow of the Combustion Institute.
For a decade, his efforts have focused more specifically on the active control of flame propagation at reduced gravity, working with Jean-Marie Citerne to imagine experimental setups designed to fly aboard the French airplane for parabolic flights. These investigations have been supported by the French Space Agency for years. The challenge now also lies at the heart of the ERC Synergy project FireSpace (2026–2031), for which Guillaume Legros is one of the four Principal Investigators (PIs).
His teaching at Sorbonne University mainly deals with Thermal Fluids Sciences.
